   Mosquito bites

Get rid of the itch!

Get rid of the mosquitoes.

More web research, and I found quite a few suggestions to get rid of the itch, from rubbing alcohol, vinegar, or lemon juice, to toothpaste, meat tenderizer, Visine, or Caladryl. Then I found a recommendation to use Neosporin. Well, we had some, so I put a dab on the bite. In about a minute, the itch was gone. The next day, the swelling was gone, but it began to itch again. I put more Neosporin on it -- same result. I had to do this on the third day also. But that took care of the bite. And since I wasn't scratching the itch, I didn't break the skin. So there was no wound to heal, which can take weeks.

Eradication helps. Eliminate standing water. Get a bug light and have it on all night for two or three nights a week at the end of spring / beginning of summer, or when you notice the little critters flying around.

Note: "A few drops of Lemon Fresh Joy (a dishwashing liquid) in a saucer of water will knock mosquitoes dead from the sky."
